Duke Blue Devils Flags
Duke
University, originally called Brown School, was established in 1838;
the school moved to Durham, North Carolina in 1892 and became known as
Duke in 1924. The Blue Devils are members of the NCAA’s division I and
play in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). Their official colors are
Duke Blue and white. Their biggest rival, the University of North
Carolina at Chapel Hill, has a lighter shade of blue for their school
color, known as Carolina Blue. The Blue Devils have finished in the top
30 every year with NACDA Director’s Cup, a measurement of an
institution’s athletic success. Since 2008, Duke’s varsity athletic
teams have won 9 NCAA Championships; for example, women’s golf has won
5 while men’s basketball has won 3.
