The Maine state flag of the “Pine Tree State” features Maine’s coat of arms on a blue background. The background is made with the same blue as the US flag. In the seal is a moose laying under a pine tree; alongside that are a farmer and a seaman, who represent Maine’s dependence on agriculture and the ocean. The North Star above the coat of arms symbolizes the state motto, which translates to “I lead.”
